New £3 daily and £1 single Caversham-Reading bus tickets from Reading Buses

Reading buses has reduced prices for local Caversham residents launching a new £3 day ticket between Caversham and central Reading. A single ticket has cost £1.70 until now, so the new deal offers a saving of 40p per return journey. The new £3 ticket will be valid on the 2/2A, 22, 23, 24, 27, 28 and 29 routes for any journey between Caversham and Central Reading and the 9/19/22A between Central Reading and the Royal Berkshire Hospital …

Car crashes into front of Caversham house

At approximately 12.45 on Saturday 25 February 2011, a black Peugeot 206, travelling along Briants Avenue, crashed straight into the front of a house in South View Avenue.

Fortunately, the two children hurt only suffered minor injuries and no-one was seriously hurt or killed..

Violent Robberies – Arrests Made

Police are investigating whether a third violent robbery in Caversham this week is linked to two at the weekend.

The latest raid was at Smith’s News in Gosbrook Road on Wednesday by two men who had their faces covered. One attacked the shopkeeper while the other filled a holdall with cigarettes.

The 27-year-old victim was treated at Royal Berkshire Hospital for head injuries following the 10pm attack.

Donkin Hill ‘Southbound’ to shut for 8 weeks from 14th February

Apparent Donkin Hill ‘Southbound’ (which we assume to be downhill) is to close for 8 weeks from 14 February 2011.

Not sure why. Does anyone have any more information.

Farmers Market Reading 20 November 2010

Thames Valley Farmers Market Cooperative regularly has farmers markers at The Cattle Market, Great Knolly Street, Reading.

They are held on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month.
