Tesco is rumoured to be expanding its Tesco Express shops in Reading further and one of the possible sites is The Star pub, in Lower Caversham, the freehold of which is currently up for sale.
Apparently Tesco has refused to confirm or deny the rumours.
Neighbours and locals say meetings have taken place between the pub owner Enterprise Inns and Tesco but there is no evidence available to support this.

TV gardener Chris Beardshaw is coming to Caversham this week to talk to Caversham gardeners.
He will meet members of Caversham Horticultural Society on Wednesday, October 6, at 7.45pm.
