Police warn of attempted child abductions in Caversham Heights

Thames Valley police has warned local schools that there has recently been a number of attempted abductions in the Caversham area, with at least one being near the Albert Road park.

A man, said to be driving a green Nissan car, attempted to lure young boys into his car. No further details are currently available.

We ask everyone to be particularly vigilant, warn their children and report anything suspicious to the police.

Reading Council announces primary school places

If you are a Caversham or Emmer Green parent of a child who is to start primary school in September, you will no doubt know that Reading Borough Council today informs parent which school you child has a place at.

Emmer Green school to lose playing fields for car park

The Education Department plans to provide a Surestart Children’s Centre at the Emmer Green Youth & Community Centre at the back of Emmer Green school. The plans involve the school losing a proportion of its playing field to make way for car parking.
