Abbey survived a late scare to claim a well-deserved share of the spoils in a low-scoring but absorbing local derby at Rosehill. Reading Festival returns 26 – 28 August 2011

Yes, another year has passed and Reading Festival returns next weekend.

The full Reading Festival 2011 line up can be found here.

Given the close proximity of the festival to Caversham, opinion is often divided amongst its residents. The festival does bring with it some trouble and minor inconvenience but it puts money into the local economy and over the last few years better policing has clearly been evident.

Two Bridges Brewery moving to Fox and Hounds Pub

The Fox and Hounds in Gosbrook Road has been taken over by the owners of the Two Bridges Brewery in Caversham,  Kevin and Kerri Durkan. They will also be moving the brewery to the pub.

They have redecorated the pub which includes some memorabealia of The Beatles because as many know Lennon and McCartney played at the pub when they were teenagers in 1960, before forming the Beatles.
